Ahmet Okcular is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in investment and finance. His career spans over 27 years, during which he has held key positions and contributed significantly to various organizations.
Born in Istanbul in 1970, Ahmet Okcular received his BS degree from Boğaziçi University, Departments of Electrical-Electronics Engineering, and Industrial Engineering (as double major) in 1993 and his MS degree in International Business Management from International University of Japan in 1995.
Ahmet Okcular began his professional career as an associate in the Corporate Finance Department of Finans Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. and became the Group Manager serving as an advisor on numerous public offerings, M&A transactions, project financing and privatization projects. In 2005, Okçular joined HSBC Bank as the Head of M&A Advisory & Equity Capital Markets, contributing to the bank’s investment banking franchise in Turkey and successfully facilitating many important M&A transactions and public offering projects. Okçular also managed the brokerage operations of HSBC in Turkey, as the Executive Member of the Board of Directors at HSBC Yatırım Menkul Değerler A.Ş. During his investment banking career at HSBC Okcular advised more than 30 landmark M&A, private equity and privatization transactions with total value over USD 20 billion and lead-managed 4 ECM transactions with a total size over USD 1.2 billion.
Following 20 years of extensive investment banking experience, in 2016, Ahmet Okcular was appointed as the Group Vice President – Chief Financial Coordinator of Tekfen Group, which had c. USD 2 billion revenues, 18.000 employees in 38 companies. He received the “Top 50 CFO Award” in 2016 and 2017. Later Okcular also assumed the Chief Strategy, Business Development & Investment Officer role, where he led group wide M&A and strategic planning activities and coordinated business development efforts along with project finance activities. Until his leave in 2022, Okcular screened more than 150 investment opportunities and completed 8 M&A transactions. During his career at Tekfen Group, Okcular also took active roles at the boards of Tekfen Real Estate, Tekfen Insurance, Gonen Renewable Energy, Alanar Fruits and Tekfen Agri.
